The Short & Sweet #WudderSports Super Bowl 51 Prediction Placeholder

4:15 Sunday
The Wudder Sports Pre-Game Portion

The previously planned, more ambitious and lengthy Super Bowl preview got put on the back burner at the end of this week, for what we would certainly consider a far worthier subject and piece, yesterday’s “98 Degrees” tribute to my grandmother. We want to thank everyone for the love and support on that one, particularly those who shared it, as that potentially explains why it is currently burning up our Wudder record charts at a pace that represents a challenge to every piece we’ve done before, with the exception, of course, of the monster that is the Ryan DeWitt Birthday post, which still competes for most-clicks weekly sometimes, even 4-5 months after it was originally posted.

We followed up Nana’s bid for internet fame with a night out for the 41st birthday, many thanks to all of those who have checked in online and offline regarding that, it’s good to feel that love even if knowing the actual date is more easily accomplished nowadays with the Facebook cheat code.

Speaking of 41, that’s the number you reply when asked “what was the #1 Super Bowl Halftime show of all-time?”.

And speaking of cheaters, the Patriots are in the Super Bowl again today.

While we would love to tell you that the Falcons are going to win this game, Nostrabombus cannot in good conscience bet a team with one good pass rusher to beat Tommy Boy and Bill Belasterisk in the Super Bowl.

Would love to be wrong, but pretty sure we’re not.

Nostrabombus Pick: The New England Axis Of Evil

We’ll be back sometime after the festivities, likely tomorrow, to update this post to wrap up the reactions to the proceedings. Hopefully the afternoon, the event and the pomp and circumstance surrounding it, are more compelling than the build-up to this one over the course of the past fourteen days.

Speaking of fourteen, the break should be thirteen, and the Super Bowl should be played on Saturday, so people can get it in without having to worry about work the next day. This is just basic common sense at this point, which means there’s no way in hell it will ever happen in the NFL, under the stewardship of Roger Goodell.

But we know one thing, The Red-Headed Stepchild of Sports Commissioners is definitely rooting for the same team we will be today.

So at least for one day, this Super Bowl Sunday, we wish him luck.

You good people don’t need to read me blathering on about this matchup, or watching some blowhard TV talking head do the same, you should probably watch Prince's halftime show instead.

Have a good Super Bowl Sunday, and Go Birds!

Which means if the Eagles aren't involved, those two words still apply for whatever version of football flying animal team happens to be in position to prevent the awarding of another Patriots Super Bowl ring for Deebo Putin to steal.
